Feedback on our experience with Anne Leighton, agent with Don Anthony Realty

We’re always proud when we hear our agents are doing a great job for our clients. Here are some comments I received recently from some Don Anthony Realty clients who used Anne Leighton (one of our agents) to help them buy a home….

Hi Don,

I’m writing to you from multiple strains of experience and knowledge: 1) As a homeowner who has bought and sold numerous personal residences in 3 different states, 2) As a former real estate investor having bought and sold hundreds of properties and worked with several dozen agents in those transactions, 3) As a former real estate agent and broker, and 4) As an individual working closely with agents on a national level in an adjunct training capacity.

These things are placed before you not to toot my own horn, but to give you a frame of reference for what I’m about to say about Anne. This isn’t coming from a 1st, 2nd, or 10th time home-buyer: it’s coming from a seasoned, albeit former, real estate professional. As such, I didn’t look at the internet or billboards when it came time for us to choose a realtor in Charlotte; I asked trusted friends for referrals. Anne’s name came up, and based on the description my friend gave me, and her answers to my questions, I had a pretty good hunch that Anne would be right for us.

She was!

Anne impressed my wife and me right from the start. She matched her tempo with ours, asked questions that were to the point and wise, showed us property that we were interested in without pushing to up-sell us beyond our financial comfort zone,and represented our interests at every stage of the transaction.

Another very interesting trait that Anne possesses is what I call "transactional canny." By this I mean that she has an innate sense for the transaction that reveals itself in surprising and hugely beneficial ways. She knows what type of property is going to suit the client, she has a sense of when to probe with questions and when to be silent, she instinctively realizes when to turn on a little humor, or flip the coin to seriousness, and she practices superior follow up – – something that I prize and respect, and disdain when it’s not done.

We found Anne Leighton "the whole package" when it comes to excellence in a realtor. A careful and respectful listener, humble yet skilled, forthright and candid, trustworthy, a well tuned personality which somehow beautifully balances professionalism with tender care, and able to alternate between brainstorming or offering advice. I would refer Anne to my own mother.
