Scotty McCreery from Garner, NC (located just south of Raleigh, NC) was voted as one of the top 5 guys by American Idol fans and made it into the next round of the competition.  Last night was the live results show where the results of the previous two days of voting were revealed.  Over 40 million votes were cast to select the top 5 guys and the top 5 gals.  Throughout the show this season, Scotty has been one of the people showcased by American Idol, so his journey has been seen by millions.  During the show, Scotty has mentioned being from Garner, NC and has also mentioned being near Raleigh, NC.  If you haven’t heard him sing, he has a very deep voice and sings country music.
