This video shows the latest market statistics from the Charlotte Region Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for November 2010.
Overall, it looks like we are seeing a typical seasonal increase in inventory. We are higher in inventory than we were in 2009, but not nearly where we were in 2008 at this time of year, so I’m happy about that. The activity for 2010 continues to be lower than the prior 4 years, so I’m hopeful that we are at, or near, the bottom. Given that the number of sales in 2010 year-to-date is less than half of what it was in 2006, I would think that we can’t go too much lower. Since the rolling inventory trend looks like it’s flattening a little, I’m optimistic that 2011 will be the year that we “stop the drop” and are able to begin our recovery.
