Charlotte Region Homes Listed on MLS For Sale – December 2009 Inventory Report

2009 proved to be an interesting year for real estate in the Charlotte Region, as the overall inventory of homes for sale listed on the MLS went from a tremendous glut in the early part of the year back down to a more reasonable level at the end.  Though December inventory increased slightly, I am not too worried about it, as it’s not a typical month due to the holidays.

The 90-Day rolling average shows that we are back to February 2008 inventory level after being incredibly high throughout the majority of 2009.  Because our inventory is now much lower than it has been, and because interest rates remain favorable and tax credits are in place to encourage buying activity, I remain optimistic that we will see a surge of activity over the next few months.
